About Me
I'm Baum, a DJ and producer from Gainesville, Florida—soon to be based in Los Angeles. I blend funky grooves, electronica textures, and feel-good energy into every set. With roots in beat-making that trace back to 8th grade GarageBand sessions, my journey started long before the dance floor—when music was simply the creative outlet that made the most sense to me.
After years of crafting rap beats on my own, college opened the door to the world of DJing and dance music. A few key connections in the UF scene introduced me to local shows—and the second I saw the way music could bring people together, I was hooked. That spark has since evolved into a full-on obsession with sound design, rhythm, and the vibe of the crowd.
Influenced early by Daft Punk, Michael Jackson, and the disco, blues, and indie records that filled my childhood home, my music blends the smooth with the unexpected. Think electronica meets funky basslines, with nods to jazz, reggae, and even Andy Warhol-level eclecticism.
I’ve played sets across every major city in Florida, including stages like The Vanguard, Home Bass Festival, and a recurring slot as a go-to opener and resident DJ at Vivid Music Hall. My productions have earned nearly 200,000 SoundCloud streams, with each track aimed at making people feel what first drew me in—connection, energy, and joy.
I'm relocating to Los Angeles in October to take things to the next level.
Florida raised me, LA’s next. The BPM’s only going up from here.
